I have always worked in fields that allowed me to help people. I started in the medical field as a Biofeedback Technician dealing with patients who were injured on the job. This evolved into also serving as Office Manager for four of our clinic sites, and resulted in my accomplishing certificates as a Biofeedback Tech, Medical Assistant and Office Manager. After 15 years working on the medical side, I transitioned to the legal aspect of the Workers’ Compensation by working 10 years with attorneys who helped injured workers. Through this work I secured a certificate as a Workers’ Compensation specialist.
These experiences eventually led me to work for Legal Aid Society of San Bernardino where I currently hold the position of Executive Legal Assistant working closely with our Executive Director.
Why I work at Legal Aid:
I enjoy helping people. Many clients come into our office feeling completely lost; expressing a belief that no one understands their problem or cares enough to offer help. By the time they leave our office, they have gained a better understanding of their legal issue and have secured help in dealing with the problem.
My greatest satisfaction is derived from seeing the expression on the faces of those who enter Legal Aid feeling confused and defeated, then discover that they can, with our help, take action to remedy the very problems that plague their daily lives. That look inspires me to do this work and to always strive to do my best.
What I love:
I enjoy playing darts, dancing, going to the movies, shopping, doing crafts, braiding hair and spending time with family and friends.
